Between the bouleuterion and the prytaneion stand the temples of the divinized Julius and the goddess Roma.
Augustus probably granted the permission to build these temples during his official visit in 29 BCE.
These ruler cult temples represented a special honor in those times. Roma is the goddess that symbolized the city of Rome.
The Divus (divinized) Julius is Julius Caesar, who was elevated to semi-divine status after his death, and was the adoptive father of the emperor Augustus.
